Frequently Asked Questions...

Where do you get your ideas from?
I wish I knew! I’m just very grateful that they keep popping into my head. I think my brain has a radar for stories and it’s picking up snippets of ideas from anywhere and everywhere until eventually it has something that might work.
Are you a plotter or a pantser?
Firstly, a plotter is someone who likes to plan out the story before they start and a pantser is someone who just sits down to write i.e. they fly by the seat of their pants. I’m an obsessive plotter and love to plan out my story using far too many sticky notes before I start writing.
Are your books a series that I have to read in order?
No, all my stories are standalone so you can read them in any order.
Where can I buy your books?
Around publication of a new book you’ll find it in some of the supermarkets. Otherwise most bookshops will be able to order any of them in. They are also available through all the usual online retailers.
Do you mind that I borrow your books from the library?
No I love it! Libraries need to be used plus authors get a few pence each time a book is borrowed so it’s a win:win for everyone.
Why haven’t I heard of you before?
It’s really hard to build a brand unless one of your books goes viral or has a big marketing budget. So even though I’ve written lots of books and sold thousands of copies, in the scheme of things, I’m still not very well known. But every like, share or word of mouth recommendation helps to improve that. So please leave a review and tell other readers if you've enjoyed one of my stories.
have you won any awards?
Yes, my novel, The Promise Of Summer, won the Romantic Novelists’ Association Romantic Comedy Award 2022.
What’s the best writing advice you’ve received?
You can’t edit a blank page, which means you need to write something. Something, even if it’s a bit pants, is better than writing nothing.
